afreaka

if there is any reason to stay alive in 2010, it’s to hear the collection of new releases Madlib’s got underneath bulging underneath his belt. One as such is The Beat Konducta in Africa, the third instalment of the Medicine Show Series and would compulsively fall chronologically as Beat Konducta vol.7 in the Beat Konducta Series, i’m not even half way through listening it and i’m already writing this post, its afreaking amazing!
Mixed in with Beat Junkie J.Rocc and featuring sample sources from Egon’s rare Now & Again Records Reissues, ‘This album bases itself on the obscure vinyl gems from the afro-beat, funk, psych-rock, garage-rock & soul movements of African countries as diverse as Zambia, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, Botswana and Ivory Coast’
Will definitely be looking out for the Limited LP version in stores

A Shout out to “Jeff Jank“, Art Director of Stones Throw Records for sending this picture of the bad character himself, Quasimoto checking out the site!

”Stones Throw cover artist Jeff Jank has designed and directed covers artwork for the likes of David Axelrod, Percee P and Madlib, to mention only a few! His talents have defined the labels identity and helped to shape and record a moment in hip hop history!”
